

The idea for Kabaret grew out of Guillory’s own experience with children’s theater.

Guillory’s official title is artistic director and instructor, and he runs Kabaret with production camp assistants Madelyn Kelly and Shelby Pelafigue. Travis Guillory, a New Iberia native and undergraduate at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, dared to be wise two years ago when he launched Kidz Kabaret, a theater education program for children, and now Kabaret is prepared for its first full-scale performance with a six-show run of “Annie, Jr.” at Cite’ des Arts in Lafayette. Dare to be wise begin!” And while this probably was not directly intended for theater directors and college students in particular, it certainly applies.
